Bathroom Gallery Wall Ideas
Yes, a bathroom can take a gallery wall. The trick is to keep it small, tight and on one theme: four prints in a 2x2 grid above the toilet, towel rail or bath, with 5 to 8 cm gaps and frames sealed with a backing board to keep out steam.
Below is a ready-matched set of four black and white bathroom prints, each a crisp photo with a dry one-liner, plus the layout, hanging tips and the mistakes to avoid in a damp room.
The set: Grid of four (2x2)
About 47 cm wide and 64 cm tall in total with 5 cm gaps. Centre it above the toilet, towel rail or bath.

The set: four bathroom one-liners in black and white
These four prints come from one series of monochrome bathroom photographs with bold type: Take a Seat, Wash Your Hands, Soap Policy and Silent Flush. They share the same grey tones, the same clean sans-serif lettering and the same deadpan humour, so they look like a set rather than four random signs.
Black and white suits almost any bathroom: white tiles, dark slate, marble, wood or a coloured wall. The set looks sharpest in thin black frames, or in white frames on a dark wall. For more ideas, browse our bathroom wall art and text and typography prints.
How to hang it
- Pick the wall. Above the toilet, the towel rail or the bath works best. Avoid the wall inside the shower or right above the basin, where splashes land.
- Mark the centre. Aim for the centre of the grid at around 145 to 150 cm from the floor. Above a toilet or bath, keep 15 to 25 cm clear between the cistern or bath edge and the bottom frames.
- Hang the top pair first, about 5 cm apart, then the bottom pair directly below with the same gap. A 2x2 grid only looks right when every gap matches.
- Use strong fixings. On tiles, use adhesive strips rated for bathrooms or drill through the grout with a tile bit.
Try the layout first with paper templates, or in our gallery wall planner.
Bathroom gallery wall mistakes
- Ignoring humidity. Paper prints need protection from steam. Choose frames with a backing board and a glazed front, keep the room ventilated, and keep the art out of direct splash zones.
- Going too big. In a small bathroom, A4 prints in a tight grid look better than a single oversized print.
- Mixing jokes and styles. Four funny prints from different series look like clutter. One series, one font, one tone keeps it clean.
- Hanging too high. Most people see bathroom art while seated or standing at the basin, so keep it at eye level.
