Pink Bedroom Ideas

A pink bedroom feels grown-up rather than sugary when you choose a muted, slightly dusty pink and ground it with deeper colours such as sage, burgundy, mustard or warm wood. Art that pairs pink with green or a deep red gives the room a focal point and keeps it from looking one-note.

Below: choosing a pink, colours that go with it, bedding and headboard ideas, and how to pick art for pink walls.

Blush, dusty pink or plaster?

  • Blush pink is soft and warm, close to a neutral. It suits small bedrooms and pairs with cream and oak.
  • Dusty pink and rose have a touch of grey or brown, which makes them feel calmer and more adult.
  • Plaster and terracotta pinks lean towards peach and feel earthy and sunny.
  • Deep raspberry and berry tones make a bold, cosy room, best on one wall or in a larger bedroom.

Warm pinks with a peach or yellow base glow in north-facing rooms. Cool pinks with a blue base can look chilly there, so save them for sunny bedrooms.

Colours that go with pink

Pink and green is the most reliable pairing. Sage, olive and deep leaf green sit opposite pink on the colour wheel, so each makes the other look richer. Burgundy and oxblood give a tonal, layered look. Mustard and ochre add warmth and a vintage feel. Cream, oak and rattan keep it all soft.

For balance, try the 60-30-10 rule: about 60% pink, 30% cream and wood, 10% deeper accent. Our decorating rules page explains it.

Pink bedroom decor: bedding and headboards

Mix pinks of different depths on the bed, such as a blush duvet, a rose throw and a burgundy cushion, or let cream bedding sit against pink walls and add pink in the cushions only. A green velvet cushion or a mustard throw stops the bed looking too sweet.

Natural wood and cane headboards suit blush and plaster pinks. A deep green, burgundy or rust upholstered headboard makes a striking contrast against a pink wall.

Art for pink walls

Choose prints that bring in a contrasting colour: botanicals and cacti in green, abstracts in burgundy and blush, figurative pieces with ochre or deep red. On blush walls, art with a darker background stands out; on deeper pinks, cream or light backgrounds work best.

Above the bed, go for one A1 above a double, or a pair of A2 prints above a king size, hung 15 to 25 cm above the headboard. Browse our pink wall art, or add depth with burgundy and sage green prints.

Questions people ask

What colours go with pink in a bedroom?
Sage, olive, burgundy, mustard, cream and natural wood all work with pink. Green is the most reliable contrast, and burgundy gives a tonal look.
Is pink out of style in 2026?
No. Muted pinks such as blush, dusty rose and plaster pink remain popular bedroom colours, especially when paired with green or deep red.
What colour makes pink pop?
Green, from sage to deep leaf green, makes pink look richer because they sit opposite each other on the colour wheel. Burgundy and mustard also add depth.
What colours don't go with pink?
Bright orange-reds and cold, stark greys can clash with soft pinks. Too many different pinks at full strength can also look sugary.
What wall art goes with pink walls?
Prints that bring in a contrasting colour, such as green botanicals, burgundy and blush abstracts, or figurative art with ochre. Darker backgrounds stand out on pale pink walls.
What colour bedding goes with pink walls?
Cream and natural linen keep the room calm. Layer blush, rose or burgundy cushions, and add a green or mustard throw for contrast.
Is pink a good colour for a bedroom?
Yes. Soft, warm pinks are flattering and restful, and work especially well in north-facing bedrooms.
